Poppie Gifts commenced trading in October
1984. Denise Henderson formed the Company for the manufacture
of handmade decorative glassware. It was named after her
mother, hence the unusual spelling. Denise's background was
in accounts and, although a very practical person, had never
tried glassblowing until after the company was formed. Denise
is largely responsible for designing the products and also
helps her skilled glassblowers with the manufacturing.
Many different techniques are used for the finish of the
glass, including hand painting with gold, platinum and
ruby lustre and also sandblasting which gives a frosted
effect. All the patterning is done by hand thus enabling
us to achieve greater individuality. However we can reproduce
the same patterns if required. With the use of coloured
enamelled transfers we can replicate Company Logo's. All
of our glassware is annealed, and comes attractively boxed.
We specialise in one-off commissions and larger quantities
suitable for corporate gifts or unusual trophies for your
Company's sporting days or presentations.
